North Augusta ends perfect regular season, gets set for playoffs

North Augusta secured a perfect regular season Friday night and now turns its attention to the playoffs.

The fourth-ranked Yellow Jackets beat Aiken 51-21 to wrap up an undefeated regular season at 10-0, including 4-0 in Region 4-AAAA.

North Augusta reached the double-digit win mark for the sixth time since 2009.

North Augusta will now get ready for Westwood in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs Nov. 3. The Yellow Jackets will play host to the Redhawks, the No. 4 seed from Region 3 who went 6-5 in the regular season.

South Aiken routed Midland Valley 62-21 on Friday night to wrap up the No. 2 seed from Region 4. The Thoroughbreds earned a home playoff game in the first round against Ridge View, the No. 3 seed that finished the regular season at 7-3.

Midland Valley will be on the road in the first round against South Pointe, the defending state champion and No. 1 team in South Carolina.
