North Augusta’s DeJuan Bell is The Augusta Chronicle’s Player of the Week.

HIGHLIGHTS: DeJuan Bell had a hand in three touchdowns and two interceptions during North Augusta's 40-14 victory over Lexington on Friday. The senior recorded five catches for 94 yards and three scores. He also helped set up other scores with his playmaking ability on punt and kickoff returns.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "Since 10th grade we knew he was exciting with the football and was able to make plays. He just had to get more consistent with making plays. DeJuan is very competitive. He wants to do well all the time, sometimes even to a fault. He came back and made plays like we knew he can and did a great job for us." - North Augusta coach Brian Thomas

WHAT HE SAID: "When we got in different formations, the way they were adapting to the formation, we were able to create new plays. With our linemen and our linebackers, they put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. He had to make some hard throws, so we had to make plays."
