Pet of the Week

Posted: April 12, 2017 - 5:47pm
“Blue” is an adult neutered male cat with a touch of blue in his eyes.

UPDATE: "Blue," the neutered male cat with a touch of blue in his eyes featured in last week's North Augusta Today has been picked up by local rescue group Molly's Militia and is now available for adoption at the new PetSmart store, which opened Monday. PetSmart staff said Blue will be there until he's adopted.

There is no fee to adopt an animal from North Augusta Animal Control shelter at 61 Claypit Road. But the person who adopts is required to have the pet spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies and microchipped.

The shelter is not always manned, but anyone who wants to visit and consider adopting an animal can set up an appointment with Animal Control Officer Mike Strauss by calling (803) 441-4298. He is on duty Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
