North Augusta High School's Class AAAA state champion girls basketball team will be celebrated April 20 with a banquet featuring A'Ja Wilson of the University of South Carolina's national championship girls basketball team.
The banquet will be at 7 p.m. at the North Augusta Community Center.
Tickets are $10 per person and can be bought at the city Municipal Center, community center and Riverview Park.
Wilson, a sophomore forward, was the unanimous choice for the Associated Press Southeastern Conference Player of the Year award before the Lady Gamecocks won the national title, recognizing her role in leading her team to a perfect record in the league standings and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Wilson scored 23 points in South Carolina's 67-55 victory over Mississippi State for the national title.
Her coach, Dawn Staley, was named AP's Coach of the Year for the second time in three years.
North Augusta completed a perfect season at 28-0. The final victory brought home its first state title in a 61-37 win over Florence's Wilson High School. The 24-point margin of victory marked North Augusta's 19th win by 20 or more points.
