The North Augusta Youth Fishing Team participated in the second annual Savannah River Tournament on Feb. 2. Nineteen fish, all jackfish and bass, were caught totaling 27 pounds. Quidditch tournament coming in March

The 2013 International Quidditch Association Southern Regional Championship is coming to Riverview Park on March 2-3.

The championship, held by the Augusta Sports Council and the International Quidditch Association, will include 14 teams from South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee. The teams will compete to advance to the World Cup Quidditch Championship in Kissimmee, Fla.

Tournament participants will hold a Kidditch clinic for ages 11 to 18 on March 2 from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will learn about Quidditch basics and get to play in scrimmage games. The Quidditch tournament will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day on the park’s soccer fields. There is no cost to participate in the Kidditch clinic or to attend the Quidditch tournament.
