Athlete Spotlight: Elizabeth Creech

Elizabeth Creech

SPORT: Swimming

EVENT: 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle

AGE: 16

GRADE: 11th

SCHOOL: North Augusta High

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SWIMMING? I tried other sports and I had an injury and swimming was recommnded and I really enjoyed it.

WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT THING TO DO IN SWIMMING? Probably to take myself to practice because you know it’s going to be hard but it’s worth it in the end.

STANDOUT MOMENT: Just seeing how much team support there is in it and how much they cheer for someone when they go up to swim

STRENGTHS: Sprinting

IMPROVEMENT GOAL: I would like to take my swimming to college to help with a few scholarships, if not I want to have fun and improve my times.

WORST INJURY: I jammed my thumb but other then that no battle scars.

TRAINING ROUTINE: Six days a week for 2.5 hours each day

OTHER SPORTS: None

SPORT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY: Volleyball

FAVORITE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE: Missy Franklin, just because of her spirit and how good she is at such a young age.

WHY IS BEING INVOLVED IN SPORTS IMPORTANT? To maintain physical fitness and because you can have interaction with teammates and friends outside of school in a safe way
