Enrollment open for GED classes

Open enrollment for all GED classes through Aiken County Adult Education continues through Feb. 16 at Byrd Learning Center from 9 a.m. to noon.

The classes are free. The program also provides other services such as free introductory assessments and even free childcare.

Prospective students may also enroll for the Adult Education Diploma Completion Program or English Second Language (ESL) classes at any time during the school year. WorkKeys certification classes are also available and free of charge.

Here is a list of Aiken County adult education locations, times and programs:

Byrd Learning Center - Morning Session from 9 a.m. to noon. Monday through Thursday; Evening Session from 5-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Programs include GED classes, Diploma Completion Program, ESL, WorkKeys certification and literacy classes.

Second Providence Baptist Church - Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-8 p.m. Programs include GED classes and WorkKeys certification classes.

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church - Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Programs include GED classes and WorkKeys certification classes.

Goodwill Job Connection - Monday through Thursdays from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Programs include GED classes and WorkKeys certification classes.

St. John's United Methodist Church - Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to noon. Programs include English Second Language classes.
