The following Belvedere Elementary School pupils are Principal's Writing Board winners for March: Colin Donaldson, Jackson Davis, Treshawn Corley, Julian Collier, Evan Hargrove and Will Risse.

• Applications for the North Augusta Artists Guild’s Visual Arts Scholarship are being accepted through Friday. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is considering a college degree in the arts. The applicant must reside in North Augusta, currently attend high school (public, private, charter or home school), demonstrate excellence in the visual arts, and intend to enroll in fall 2014 at an accredited college, university or other institution of formal education. Information can be found at www.naartscouncil.org in the “Artists Guild” section.

• All of the school’s past faculty and staff members are invited to attend the school’s 60th birthday celebration on Thursday at 4 p.m. If you plan to attend, contact Cathey Ferrell at (803) 442-6330.

• Make-up days will be held Friday and April 18. School schedules will be extended on Wednesdays to make up two additional days.

• The school collected $2,244.11 for Jump Rope for Heart. Sam Mercer collected the most with $265.

• The following pupils became members of the Double H Reading Club: Jackson Scholl, Hank Greene, Elaina Hall, Katelynn Hall, Addison Davis, Katie Ellis, Elijah Dixon, Donald Bookard, Bailey Kirkman, Sawyer Sanders and Reeves Furness. 200 Books: Jada Printup and Caden Hershman. Page Master: Matthew Baxley.

• Zaxby’s Night is today at the restaurant on Edgefield Road.

Lily Powell made the 100 Book Club. Hannah Couture made the 300 Book Club. Cristal Garcia and Brayden Rutland made the Page Master level.

• An event will be held Thursday honoring the school’s former principal Franklin Hyers, who died in January. Hyers served at the school for more than 20 years. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a tree planting followed by a sharing of memories. Past faculty and staff, students and community members are invited to attend.
