• The following North Augusta residents were named to the Dean’s List at Clemson University for the fall 2013 semester: Alison Cercy, Marina Clements, Megan Jessee, Ashlyn Kelly, Grace Manci, Adam Parler, Hannah Reese, Benjamin Smith and Jonathan Snyder.

• Today is an early release date for Aiken County Public Schools.

• Aiken County Public Schools will have five-year strategic plan input meetings for parents and the community Thursday at the following locations: 6-7 p.m., Aiken Middle School’s multipurpose room; 6:30 p.m., North Augusta Elementary School’s cafeteria; 6 p.m., Leavelle McCampbell Middle School’s cafeteria; 6-7:30 p.m., Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary/Middle School’s media center; and 6-7 p.m., Silver Bluff High School’s media center. An input meeting will also be held March 11 at 6 p.m. at the Brookhaven district office in Aiken prior to the school board’s regular meeting. The plan includes goals and activities for improving student achievement, teacher/leadership quality, and school climate.

• Aiken County Public Schools will make up inclement weather days on Friday and March 21.

• Wardlaw Academy will have its open house on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Potential new students and their families can tour the campus, meet faculty, staff and current parents, and learn more about the school.

• Applications for the North Augusta Artists Guild’s Visual Arts Scholarship are being accepted through March 28. The scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is considering a college degree in the arts. The applicant must reside in North Augusta, currently attend high school (public, private, charter or home school), demonstrate excellence in the visual arts, and intend to enroll in fall 2014 at an accredited college, university or other institution of formal education. Information can be found at www.naartscouncil.org in the “Artists Guild” section.

• Thursday is Domino’s Night.

• Board of directors meetings are held on the last Mondays of the month at 6 p.m. in the Fox Creek conference room.

• Registration for 4K and 5K for the 2014-15 school year will be held April 16-17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. To qualify for 4K, the child must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2014. To qualify for 5K, the child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2014.

Reagan Peters made the 100 Book Club. Carl Hardin and Karely Vivas made the Page Master level.

Zsa-Kiana Williams was the third place winner in the American Legion Auxiliary Americanism essay contest.

Jodi Brown-Hooks, third grade teacher, was named a Best Mannered Teacher by the Aiken County Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillion.
