School Notes

• Box Tops, Campbell’s soup labels, My Coke Rewards, Tyson chicken labels, used ink cartridges and recyclable cellphones are being collected.

• Pupils will be released at 12:30 p.m. today.

• MAP testing is Thursday-Sept. 25.

• Interim reports will be sent home Sept. 13.

• Fall pictures will be taken Sept. 18.

• Sept. 12 is an early release day. Students will be released at 2 p.m.

• Interim reports will be sent home Sept. 19.

• Open house is Sept. 20 from 4-7 p.m.

• Homecoming is Oct. 5. The football game starts at 7:30 p.m. and will be against North.

• The second nine weeks will start Oct. 23.

• Fall HSAP testing will be held Oct. 23-25.

• Oct. 31 is an early release day.

• Nov. 2 and 5 are teacher work days. There will be no school for students.

• There will be no school Nov. 6 for election day.

• The Miss Fox Creek 2013 pageant will be held Jan. 26. The theme is Uptown Girl and the competition includes personal and on-stage interviews, sportswear and evening gown. See Mrs. Leopard for more information.

• Pupils were encouraged to use the Compass Learning Odyssey Program during the summer. Stephen Johnston completed the most activities – 183. He will be treated to lunch at Sno-Cap with Ms. Vaughan and Ms. Brown. • School spirit T-shirts are to be worn each Friday for Spirit Days.

• People may purchase a commemorative brick to support the courtyard renovation project. Contact the school for more information.

• Fall individual pictures will be taken Sept. 27. The make-up date for fall pictures is Oct. 25.

• Oct. 3 is an early-release day. Pupils will be released at 12:30 p.m.

• Oct. 19 is a teacher workday. There will be no school for pupils.

• Oct. 23 is the end of the first nine weeks.

• Chick-fil-A biscuits will be sold in the morning car line Oct. 26.

• Parent teacher conferences will be held Oct. 29. Report cards will be distributed during the conference. There will be no school for pupils.

• A note is required from a parent or doctor when a pupil is absent from school. The note should include the pupil’s first and last name, teacher’s name, date of absence and reason for absence. After 10 absences, a medical note is required for the absence to be excused.

• The PTO Cookie Dough Fundraiser will continue through Monday and orders will be delivered in early October.

• Pupils should not be dropped off before 7 a.m. each morning. Pupils are allowed to enter the building at 7 a.m. There is not a teacher on duty to supervise pupils before 7 a.m.

• Pupils will be released early Sept. 12.

• Interim report cards will be sent home Sept. 19.

• MAP testing continues through Sept. 28.

• Pupils will be released early Sept. 12.

• There will be an instructional fair Oct. 7.

• Oct. 7 is fall break for pupils.

• Mentors are needed and are paired with one pupil. Training for new mentors will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 and noon Sept. 21. • Prescription medicines must be accompanied with a copy of the doctor’s order to be accepted by the school nurse. Inhalers and EPI pens must be in their original box with the pupil’s name label from the pharmacy.

• The book fair will be in the media center Thursday though Sept. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, except it will be from 7:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 14. It will be open from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sept. 13 for Family Reading Night. Volunteers are needed.

• School will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

• Pupils will be released at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 5.

• Volunteer training will be held at noon and 12:15 p.m. Sept. 5, and 7:15 and 7:30 p.m. Friday.

• Yearbook pictures will be taken Thursday.

• MAP testing ends Sept. 25.

• The Dollar Tree in North Augusta will collect school supplies for NAE pupils through Saturday.

• Fall pictures will be taken Friday. All pupils will be photographed for the yearbook. Prices are between $12 and $59 for the different packages. Return payment envelopes prior to Friday, or

• The Environmental Club will
meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room
415. Club membership is $5. Future meetings will be held the second Tuesday monthly.

• Chick-fil-A cookies will be sold for $1.25 during lunch Tuesday and Thursdays, and sandwiches will be sold for $4 on Fridays.

• Pupils should not be on campus before 7:20 a.m. or after 3:45 p.m.

• Volleyball practice is held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and on Thursdays from 12:30 to 2 p.m., with the exception of game days and choir trips.

• Fall and senior pictures will be takentoday.
