Anna Tuten will soon graduate high school. And even though the North Augusta High School senior is just beginning to transition to adult life, she feels like she’s already heading over the hill.
“Thank goodness I get to move on,” she said of graduating. “I feel like I’m getting old for once in my life – wow, that’s crazy. When I think about the hours and days, it has dragged on. But the years have flown by.”
The days may have dragged, but it wasn’t because she had nothing to do. Anna belongs to Mu Alpha Theta, where she is the records manager and through which she helps tutor other students in math. As a member of the National Beta Club, she has attended the state convention the past two years.
Anna also is on the student council, in the Environmental Serteen Club and writes for the Yellow Jacket school newspaper.
Anna also dances with Tip Toes and Taps, which choreographs shows to benefit local charities, spent the summer stocking shelves at the Golden Harvest Food Bank in Aiken as a volunteer, and is active in the Resistance program and Sunday school at First Baptist Church of North Augusta.
