Turner finishes fifth in state finals
North Augusta's girls finished ninth at the meet held in Clemson last weekend. North Augusta finished 11th overall.
Fox Creek's boys finished 20th, with a fifth-place finish from Stenson Turner in the 50-yard freestyle.
VOLLEYBALL
Fox Creek tops in region
The Lady Predators finished their season as region champions with an undefeated 14-0 in conference record. The team celebrated senior night on Oct. 19 at their game against Ridge Spring-Monetta, which they won 25-12, 25-14, 25-9. Senior Danielle Payne led the night with strong offensive and defensive play. Payne had 11 kills, 4 aces, 16 digs and 5 blocks. Junior Carly Barron also played strong with 6 aces, 9 kills, 2 blocks and 8 digs. Mickey Bell had 12 assists and Haley Bryant had 8. Amberlyn Harper led the team with strong serving and passing.

Yellow Jackets shut out Richland Northeast
In Columbia, Demarcus Rouse scored two of North Augusta's four rushing touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets blanked Richland Northeast 35-0 on Thursday night in a Region 5-AAAA game.
Rouse scored on runs of 1 and 11 yards and led the Yellow Jackets (8-1, 4-1) with 119 yards on 17 carries. Loranzo Hammonds , scored on an 8-yard run and finished with 110 yards on 11 carries. He also threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jessie Pernell .
Vinny Miller scored North Augusta's other touchdown on a 1-yard run.
