Man robbed at gunpoint at a party

A North Augusta man was robbed at gunpoint while he was at a party Friday morning.

The 55-year-old victim told police he was at a party with a friend when he was invited to a different house on the 600 block of Crestlyn Drive, according to an incident report. He said other people at the party were smoking crack and drinking, but he was only drinking.

When he and his friend left about 1 a.m., a black man approached the vehicle, brandished a handgun and told him to get out of the vehicle, the report said. The man complied, and the robber took his wallet from his pants pocket. The victim said another black man took $200 from the his friend, but the friend chose not to file a report, according to the incident report.

Man crashes car into house, flees scene

An Augusta man crashed his car into a North Augusta home Sunday night and then fled the scene.

The resident of the house on the 1200 block of West Avenue reported hearing a loud crash in the front of his residence at about 10:45 p.m., according to a police report. Officers said 29-year-old Ivan Thompson, of the 3400 block of Linderwood Drive, struck the curb and some shrubs at another residence on the same block before he hit the house.

Thompson fled on foot. He told police later on the phone that he got scared when he realized he'd struck a house and ran away. No arrests have been made.
