Wanting Family-Owned Restaurants

When Will North Augusta business owners step up and serve.... Serve Food that is.

Moving from Aiken to North Augusta several years ago, I've seen a lot of positive changes in the community. One change that I haven't seen with all of the new construction are new family-owned restaurants. I was eagerly anticipating an exciting new dining experience next to the new Kroger, but that excitement diminished when I found out that it was an Arby's. Arby's??? I guess there was a need for another fast food chain as they are still experiencing a full parking lot, but I long to see family-owned restaurants finding their way in North Augusta.

Look at the success of downtown Aiken to see what North Augusta could be like. When you personally own a restaurant, you have a personal investment in the food and people in community. I would love to support a great, reasonably priced dinning experience here locally without driving to Aiken or small parts of Augusta.

Great Point!! We could use a Davors, or Bowery, or EEJays's over here. I looked at starting something in North Augusta but the City was just so hard to deal with. I helped a project in Aiken and enjoyed dealing with Ed Evans over there. We need to clean house on the elected officials in NA and get young fresh business minded folks over there.

We are hurting for some. I have long been of the opinion that a family run steak house in North Augusta would make a fortune.
That being said, we do have a few. Al's, BBQ Barn, Monterays (i belive the first one was the one in NA, and the owner is the guy ALWAYS at the register), River House, Snow Cap, and there is some new one down at Hammonds Ferry. Dont get me wrong, we need some more though.

I would also like to add that the Ruby Tuesdays in North Augusta has the worst service and the worst food quality I have ever had.
