Bank robber escapes as dye pack explodes
North Augusta authorities are searching for a man who robbed the Wachovia Bank branch at Georgia and West Buena Vista avenues on Oct. 8.
A man wearing a red golf shirt with white stripes demanded money from a teller, according to North Augusta Public Safety Detective Tim Thornton. The man fled on foot behind the bank, where investigators believe a driver in an older model Buick or Oldsmobile was waiting, Thornton said.
A red dye pack in the stolen money exploded as the suspect fled. Investigators described the suspect as a black man in his 40s. He is between 5 feet 6 inches tall and 6 feet tall.
North Augusta man sought in burglaries
Authorities are searching for a North Augusta man wanted in several burglaries.
Marquis E. Cummings, 26, of the 1900 block of Seaborn Drive, is charged in warrants with burglary, grand larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle, Aiken County's Sgt. Dave Myers said in a news release.
Cummings is a suspect in several burglaries and is considered armed and dangerous, Myers said.

Police charge brother in woman's stabbing
A North Augusta woman treated for minor injuries early Saturday said her brother tried to stab her with a butcher knife.
Joseph Martin Bragg, 33, was charged with high and aggravated assault and battery Saturday, according to a North Augusta Department of Public Safety report.
The woman said she and Bragg got into a fight when he arrived at the 700 block of Seymour Drive, according to the report. The woman said she asked him to keep his door open so she could make sure he was OK, which angered him, the report says.
Bragg tried to stab her in the stomach but instead cut her finger. The woman was taken to a hospital for stitches.
Gas station shooting under investigation
Aiken County authorities are investigating a shooting at the Greg's Gas Plus on U.S. Highway 1 in North Augusta Sunday.
Aiken County's Sgt. Dave Myers said that a person was shot about 2 a.m. while pumping gas at the station. The wound was superficial, and the victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment, Myers said.
The incident is still under investigation.
Two vehicles stolen over the weekend
Two vehicles were stolen in North Augusta Sunday.
The first occurred at Club Fusion. The victim told police when he returned to his vehicle at 2 a.m., he found his blue Ford Crown Victoria missing. He said the keys were in the driver's side floorboard and both rear windows were down, according to an incident report.
In a separate incident, a Sonic Drive-In worker told police he saw a woman driving off in his green Jeep Grand Cherokee at 12:47 p.m. He told officers that at first he thought his wife had come to get it as she frequently does, but she said she had not taken it.
The Jeep has a Monty's tag on the rear bumper, a silver metal tag on the front bumper with Mrs. Corley written in silver.
