Belvedere First Baptist

- A church picnic will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Living History Park. Members are asked to bring enough side dishes to feed their family and a guest.

- World Hunger Day will be observed Sunday. The church hopes to collect $2,750 this year.

- Donations of individually wrapped candies are being collected for the annual Trunk and Treat to be held Oct. 31 from 6-7:30 p.m.

- The Women's Ministry is collecting the following items for Belvedere Elementary School: hard candy, hand sanitizer and Kleenex.

Fairview Presbyterian

- A new hardbound cookbook featuring about 600 church member's recipes is available for purchase. The $15 cookbook includes its own prop stand.

- The International Luncheon will be Thursday at the Medical College of Georgia. Volunteers are needed to help serve food and eat with the Internationals. Members will meet at the hospital from 11:30-11:45 a.m.

- The Fairview Early Childhood Center will have its consignment sale Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children's fall and winter clothing, toys, books, equipment videos and maternity wear will be sold.

First Baptist of North Augusta

- To help wrap shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, meet in the fellowship hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Oct. 17. Bring scissors, tape and wrapping paper.

- Adam Paul Williams will be in concert Sunday at 6 p.m. A love offering will be taken.

- Auditions for the Christmas play will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

- A trip to Biltmore is scheduled for Dec. 10. Cost is $100, which includes travel, a ticket and a buffet lunch at Deer Park Inn located at Biltmore. Deadline to sign up is Oct. 18.

- An event will be held at The Hippodrome on Oct. 18 from 4-7 p.m. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers, inflatables, a disc golf tournament for teens and hay rides. Cost is $5 per person or a maximum of $20 per family, including only immediate family members.

- Golf Day is Oct. 24 at the River Golf Club. Cost is $45 per person, which includes green fee and a shared cart. A shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Make reservations at the church office by Oct. 21.

Grace Fellowship

- The workshop, Empowering the Parent, will be Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon. The seminar will offer parents tips on how to help their children excel in school.

- The Fall Festival will be Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m. There will be an inflatable slide and bounce pit, candy and a costume contest for children. Adults will have a cake walk contest. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. Candy donations can be dropped off in the church foyer.

Grace United Methodist

- Items for Operation Christmas Child will be collected Nov. 15-23. Items needed include: hard candy, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches and flashlights. Shoe boxes also are needed.

- The Tuesday Morning Ladies' Bible Study begins a new seven-week session Oct. 20. They will be using the book, One in a Million: Journey to Your Promised Land, by Priscilla Shirer.

- The holiday gift fundraiser continues through Oct. 22. Wreaths, centerpieces and more are being sold by the youth on Wednesday nights at WINGS and between Sunday services.

- Applications for the 2010 medical mission trip to Bolivia for Sept. 3-12 are available.

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal

- The pumpkin patch is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 1-7 p.m. Sundays.

- The Pieceful Hearts Quilt Guild meets Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon, and 6:30-9 p.m. Monday.

- Flu shots will be given for ages 9 and older Sunday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. A flu shot is $30 and a pneumonia shot is $45. Shots will be given by Maxim Health Services, which will also file Universal Healthcare, Aetna, Humana Gold, SummaCare and Advantra Freedom. Sign up at the church in advance to receive a shot.

- Professional photographer Mary Beth Cooper will take portraits at the pumpkin patch Friday-Sunday by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call (803) 634-0596.

- PumpkinFest is Oct. 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a Halloweenie roast, music, pumpkin roll, games for the kids and costume contest for children and adults. Cost is $4.50 adults, $3 children or $14 family pass.

- An Open House will be Oct. 24 from noon to 3 p.m. The community is invited to look inside the church. Refreshments will be served.

- Oktoberfest is Oct. 24 from 7-10 p.m. for adult members and their guests. The event includes wine, food and music. Cost is $15 for food and a souvenir cup, or $7 for food only.
