A.M. Connection seeks speakers for new season

Posted September 15, 2009 2:17 PM

Speakers are being lined up for the upcoming season of the Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce A.M. Connection series.

Lauren Virgo, the executive director of the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta, will begin the series Sept. 23 at the North Augusta Community Center.

"We try to have speakers that will keep you up-to-date with what's going on in the community," said Brian Tucker, the chamber president.

The purpose of the event is to help local businesses connect with each other, while displaying services that are available. The event is open to the community.

Tucker said Virgo will speak about the center and its goals, as well as provide an opportunity for people to meet her.

"Anytime you put business people in a room together there is an opportunity to network, meet potential clients or someone who can potentially help your business," Tucker said. "It's always a good opportunity to meet someone new, make a connection and strengthen relationships."

The chamber has 380 members, he said, and continues to grow.

Speakers and sponsors are lined up through December, but 2010 is wide open, Tucker said. Sponsorship is $400, which includes four tickets to breakfast and one seat at the head table where the individual is given time to speak about the company.
