Thursday night music resumes next week
Music in the Park held Thursdays at Maude Edenfield Park will not be held this week.
The series will resume at 7 p.m. July 9 with Doug and the Henrys.

Belvedere First Baptist names cake winners
A Men's Cake Bake-off took place Sunday at Belvedere First Baptist Church.
The event is part of the Down Under Summer program for families. Eighteen men showed off their cooking skills. Every participant received a different type of award.

Stevenson completes Navy training
Johnavon Stevenson, son of Monica L. and John Stevenson of North Augusta, completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Stevenson completed training which included first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
Stevenson is a 2008 graduate of North Augusta High School.
Grimm named to Legion's Boys Nation
Frederick Grimm, 17, will represent South Carolina at the American Legion Boys Nation.
The rising senior at North Augusta High School was one of two state delegates selected for the week-long program to be held in July at Marymount University in Arlington, Va.
They will be introduced to the structure and function of the federal government while combining lectures and forums with visitations to federal agencies, institutions, memorials and historical spots in Washington, D.C.
