Aiken County authorities say a Hephzibah Elementary School teacher has been arrested after being accused of giving police false information during an Aiken County murder investigation.
Autronique Latrice Williams, 30, of 3740 Farrington Drive, Hephzibah, was arrested Tuesday in Richmond County and charged with misprision of a felony, said Aiken County sheriff’s Capt. Troy Elwell.
Ms. Williams is being held at the Richmond County Jail pending extradition.
Capt. Elwell said she’s accused of lying in an attempt to give an alibi for Dewayne Issac, the man accused in the June 11 fatal shooting of Exzradrian Holloway in North Augusta.
Capt. Elwell said Ms. Williams told police “That he (Mr. Issac) was with her when we can prove that he was not.”
Capt. Elwell said that after Ms. Williams was arrested “She made the comment to one of our investigators she couldn’t be put in the media because she was a teacher.”
The arrest marks the third one made in the case. On June 18, Myra Wright, of the 100 block of Reiser Court, was arrested at work at Augusta Mall and taken to the Richmond County jail.
According to an arrest warrant, Ms. Wright is accused of meeting with Mr. Issac at her workplace, allowing him to drive her van to and from the site of the shooting.
