A Martinez man faces charges in two states after a domestic dispute in Columbia County and a police chase that ended in North Augusta.
North Augusta police charged Ryan Scott McQueen, 35, of Old Anderson Road, with failure to stop for police, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.
He also faces charges in Columbia County including burglary, aggravated assault and a weapons charge, said Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris.
Police say Mr. McQueen argued with his girlfriend and followed her to a friend's house in the 200 block of Maywood Drive in Martinez about 9:45 a.m. Friday.
"Apparently this has been an ongoing situation between them," Capt. Morris said.
Mr. McQueen's girlfriend tried to lock the front door, but he forced his way in, where the homeowner became involved and was stabbed by Mr. McQueen, Capt. Morris said.
The homeowner, Anthony Arcuri, 34, was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital with a head cut and a shoulder wound, Capt. Morris said.
Mr. Arcuri's injuries were not life-threatening, he added.
Mr. McQueen fled in a white Nissan Pathfinder, which was spotted by Richmond County deputies. Mr. McQueen, being pursued by police, continued to drive into North Augusta, where he struck a car at Spring Grove and Georgia avenues.
No one was hurt, said North Augusta Public Safety Detective Tim Thornton.
Mr. McQueen fled the wreck but was stopped in Aiken County about noon after he ran over spike strips on U.S. Highway 25 in Belvedere, Detective Thornton said.
When he refused to comply with officers, Mr. McQueen was Tasered and taken into custody, Detective Thornton said.
