A North Augusta mother who saved her young son's life Friday afternoon at a family swimming pool has died after clinging to life for the past five days.
Doris Martin, of the 600 block of Whitewood Way, died Tuesday at University Hospital, said Edgefield County Coroner Thurmond Burnett.
Mrs. Martin jumped in a pool to save her 10-year-old son, who was struggling to stay afloat. After he was safe, she found herself fighting for her life in the pool.
