News release from First Baptist Church of North Augusta:
First Baptist Church of North Augusta cordially welcomes parents and children alike to explore their brand new Children’s Learning Center. First Baptist will hold a community open house on Sunday, August 24th from 2-4 p.m. This will be an excellent opportunity for the families of North Augusta to explore and enjoy this exciting, innovative facility. The open house includes guided tours of the Children’s Learning Center, along with entertainment, snacks and games provided for kids of all ages.
The Children’s Learning Center opened in early May and construction was completed earlier this month. The Children’s Learning Center is a central piece in First Baptist’s continuing ministry to the community of North Augusta.
“Our ultimate desire is that children have a safe, loving, beautiful environment in which to learn about God” said Dena Riley, the director of children’s ministries at First Baptist. Riley said the Children’s Learning Center provides that environment.
The new learning center features inventive and interactive rooms created with kids in mind. From the ‘God’s Big Backyard’ (designed for pre-school and kindergarten children) to ‘High Street’ (Grades 1-5), to ‘ The Underground’ (Grades 6-8) the new Children’s Learning Center aims to engage children and students on their level, while encouraging parents to plug into other ministries at the church. With the influx of young families in the North Augusta area, the Children’s Learning Center strives to be a place that families can grow closer together by strengthening their faith.
The community open house will effectively allow the public to view this wonderful new edition to the North Augusta cityscape.
First Baptist was founded in 1902 and has served the city of North Augusta for over 100 years. First Baptist is a church committed to Christian fellowship and strengthening faith and love in Jesus Christ.
