Clemson spokesman Tim Bourret acknowledged the school is investigating whether one of its assistant coaches committed an NCAA violation during the recruitment of North Augusta's Bryan Narcisse , according to the Greenville News .
Bourret said the investigation is focused on what, if any, role the assistant had in organizing an April workout that Narcisse and 10 other players took part in.
Nine North Augusta players were declared ineligible for the 2008-09 season by the South Carolina High School League and the team was banned from preseason and postseason play for participating in the workout.
The school is appealing the sanctions.
