The Fox Creek Lady Predators softball team went on the road Wednesday night and swept a doubleheader against Whitmire to claim the Class A District IV title.
The Lady Predators beat Whitmire 7-5 in the first game, and 7-1 in the second to secure the title, coach Amanda Schneider said. They will play in the opening round of the Upstate championship tournament beginning Saturday.
The Region 4-A champions lost 1-0 to Lewisville April 24 in the opening round of district competition. The Lady Predators then went on the road to beat Ware Shoals, 6-4, Saturday, and beat Lewisville, 6-5, Tuesday to advance to the title game.
