Three praise bands from Grace United Methodist Church will perform Friday to raise money for the church's youth drama team.
The concert, Songfest 2008, begins at 7 p.m. in the Wesley Center, 639 Georgia Ave. The concert is free but donations will be accepted for the drama team.
The Grace United bands, one youth and two adult, will play contemporary Christian music. Marianne Harlan, the director of worship arts, described the show as "high energy."
"If people like what they hear on 88.3 (WAFJ-FM), it's all the top Christian songs that you would hear on the radio," she said. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
Refreshments such as popcorn and cookies will be served.
Church member and photographer Susan Cliett will also have photographs on display.
"She's got some beautiful pieces," Harlan said.
Last year, more than 250 people attended Songfest. The drama team used the proceeds to perform Godspell at several churches in Florida.
This year, the proceeds will help pay for acting lessons at Georgia Shakespeare in Atlanta.
"This is the first year the kids decided they really want to work on their acting skills," Harlan said. "They're using drama as a tool to witness to other people."
