With spring-like temperatures in full swing, peach trees are blossoming throughout Edgefield County.
According to Sonny Yonce, owner of J.W. Yonce & Sons, his crop is budding about two weeks sooner than previous years.
"I've been doing this a long time," Yonce said. "And I've never seen a February like this one. It's safe to say that our May and June peaches are already in bloom."
Between mid-November and late February, peach trees need between 800 and 1,000 hours of temperatures below 45 degrees to maximize potential growth.
