Yusef Dobbs and fellow fifth graders at North Augusta Elementary School learned on the Oct. 21 field trip that the ponds offer more than a home for alligators. The field trip to the park was part of a pilot program with the city's stormwater department.

Salsa classes will benefit Our Lady of Peace's arts program
"Salsa -- it's not just a side dish anymore." Donna Plummer, who is developing a new arts program at Our Lady of Peace Catholic School, developed the catch phrase as a way to drum up interest in the four-week class.
Scholar of the Month: Ginny Simmons
Sophomore year has meant more school involvement for Fox Creek's Ginny Simmons. Simmons represents the sophomore class for student council and has added the Interact Club and Powder Puff football to her list of after school activities.
