Posted: November 8, 2017 - 2:13am

American Legion Post 71's Veterans Day program will be held at North Augusta's Wade Hampton Veterans Park at 11 a.m. Friday.

U.S. Navy Captain Patrick A. Count, a native of North Augusta currently serving at Fort Gordon, will speak.

The program will also feature the Fox Creek High School Band and Chorus, as well as a precision drill exhibition by the North Augusta High School NJROTC Drill Team.

The Post 71 Ceremonial Corps will participate and render military honors after several service organizations lay ceremonial wreaths in honor of our fallen veterans.

Tents for shade and folding chairs will be set up at the park. In case of inclement weather, the program will be held at the nearby Post 71 facility, 333 E. Spring Grove Ave.

The program will last about an hour. Afterward, Post 71 will be open for tours of its military museum. Refreshments will include soup and cornbread provided by the post's auxiliary, drinks and desserts.
