Vehicles broken into at two locations
Several cars were reported broken into at two neighboring restaurants on May 27.
According to North Augusta Public Safety incident reports, the incidents occurred in the parking lots of KFC at 433 E. Martintown Road and Monterrey Restaurant at 436 E. Martintown Road.
At KFC, one victim stated that the passenger side window had been broken and that a purse containing about $25 was missing. Another victim told the officer a laptop briefcase, a tablet, a spiral notebook with passwords and three court files had been taken from his vehicle.
At Monterrey, a victim reported that the rear driver side window had been broken and her purse was missing. Another victim said that the license plate from her vehicle was missing.
Guns, ammunition stolen from home
A North Augusta home in the 500 block of Tanager Road was reported burglarized on May 27.
The victim told the North Augusta Public Safety officer that five handguns, a shotgun, a laptop computer and two foot lockers with ammunition were missing, according to an incident report.
The officer observed scratch marks on the floor leading from the bedroom where the gun safe was stored to the kitchen where the safe was found.
