Wheelchair tennis event to be held this weekend

The fourth annual Walton Foundation Wheelchair Tennis Championship will be held Friday through Sunday at Newman Tennis Center, 3101 Washington Road, Augusta.

A Run/Roll event will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. The event will feature wheelchair tennis players being paired with able-bodied players in doubles matches.

Singles and doubles play begins on Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m.

The weekend event will also provide information on Walton Foundation for Independence’s sports and leisure programs, including its monthly adaptive golf clinics and weekly wheelchair tennis clinics.

The clinics are available for free to those ages 15 and older with physical disabilities.

Museums participating
in Blue Star program

The Morris Museum of Art and the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History are participating in the Blue Star Museums program.

Through Sept. 1, military members and their families can visit the museums for free.
