The American Legion Riders of the American Legion Post 71 held a Christmas Party for residents of Hammond House in North Augusta on Dec. 21. A variety of goodies and refreshments were served to the residents, some who are members of American Legion Post 71. Drumming for Peace

The second annual Drumming for Peace event will be held Saturday at noon at the DoubleTree Hotel, 2651 Perimeter Parkway, Augusta.

The drum circle event is free.

Museum to hold gala

The eighth annual Lucy Craft Laney Museum Heritage Gala will be held Feb. 1 at 6 p.m.

The event’s keynote speaker is Zena K. Howard, who has more than 20 years of experience with public and private institutions, museums, cultural facilities, libraries and higher education.

Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased by Jan. 21.

The event will be held at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, 2 Tenth Street, Augusta.

Hampton Terrace
to be highlighted

The Heritage Council of North Augusta will have its annual meeting and Toast to the Hampton Terrace’s 14th Season-The Season that Never Was on Saturday at the North Augusta Community Center.

The event will beheld from 1 to 4 p.m. with speakers at 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. A short video called The Elegance That Was will be shown at 3 p.m. followed by the annual meeting at 3:30 p.m.

During the event, attendees may view items from the Hampton Terrace.
