Thousands of boxes collected

Local Operation Christmas Child efforts resulted in 28,366 boxes filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement.

Citizen of the Year

Citizen of the Year nominations are being accepted.

Nominees must not have been previously recognized with the honor. Other criteria include civic activities, business involvement, contribution to the community and moral and ethical character.

The award will be presented during the Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce annual meeting on Feb. 13.

Contact the chamber of commerce office at (803) 279-0003 for a nomination form or more information. The deadline to submit nominations is 1 p.m.

Birth announced

David and Jami Noyce of North Augusta have announced the birth of their daughter, Rachel Marie Noyce. Rachel was born Nov. 14 at University Hospital in Augusta.

Maternal grandparents are W. Clay Lee and Nell Johnson, both of North Augusta. Paternal grandparents are Gary D. Noyce and Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Buckley, all of Evans.
