Convenience store robbed

North Augusta Public Safety responded to an armed robbery of the Save Stop convenience store, 10307 Atomic Road, on Nov. 19.

According to an incident report, an employee stated that she was coming from the cooler around 3 a.m. when a white man came into the store, jumped over the counter and pointed a gun at her.

The suspect told the employee to open the register as he pointed a gun at her.

The employee opened the register and told the suspect she could not open the safe. The man took an unknown amount of money from the register before leaving.

Bomb threat clears store

Walgreens, 1228 Knox Ave., received a bomb threat Nov. 16, prompting the store to be evacuated.

According to an incident report, the complainant told officers that “an Indian-sounding male” called around 2:30 p.m. and said that a bomb had been placed in the store and would be set off if $3,000 wasn’t wired to an account number within 15 minutes.

Officers didn’t find any explosive devices in the building.
