Holiday Mail for Heroes under way

Through Dec. 6, the community can send cards of thanks and holiday wishes to those who serve in the military.

The American Red Cross’s 2013   Holiday Mail for Heroes program allows cards to be sent to a central mailbox and then, after inspection, to be distributed to members of the military, and veterans and their families.

Cards must be postmarked by Dec. 6 and be sent to Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456.

Those sending cards are asked to not include letters, monetary donations, or any other type of insert. The use of glitter is also discouraged.

For more information and card guidelines, visit redcross.org/holidaymail.
