Savannah River Remediation employee Roger Staten presented a $500 check to Craig McMullin, board member for the United Way of Edgefield County as part of SRR's Zero Injuries Campaign. Each month that SRR employees work a month without any injuries, the company presetnes a $500 check to a local charity selected by employees. CMONA extends hours

Community Ministry of North Augusta Thrift Store is extending its store hours.

The new hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From Nov. 12-16, men’s clothing will be 50 percent off. From Nov. 19-27, fall and Thanksgiving items will be half-price. All proceeds from the thrift store benefits CMONA which provides short-term emergency assistance to the needy in North Augusta.

The CMONA Food pantry is in need of food and funds during this time of the year. Other current needs include baby diapers sizes 3 to 6 and pull-ups.

Zaxby’s fundraiser

Aiken Technical College will have a Percentage Night fundraiser on Nov. 4 at Zaxby’s, 1671 Knox Ave to benefit the United Way of Aiken County.

Zaxby’s will donate 10 percent of total sales made between 5 and 8 p.m. to United Way of Aiken. Purchases made both in the restaurant and at the drive-thru will be counted toward the fundraiser.
