Votes to benefit Golden Harvest

Community members can vote for their favorite Sabian cymbal at Portman’s Music Superstore from 3 to 8 p.m. today.

Each voter will be asked to donate $5 to benefit the Golden Harvest Food Bank and will be able to vote for one of 12 Sabian cymbal prototype models.

Portman’s Music Superstore is located at 4020 Washington Road, Augusta.

Mental health screenings

The Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center will provide anonymous mental health self-assessments on Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. in observance of National Depression Screening Day.

Assessments will be offered at the North Augusta office at 431 W. Martintown Road.

Disaster loans available

Federal economic injury disaster loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses in aquaculture and most nonprofit organizations located in Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, Hampton, Jasper, McCormick and Oconee counties as a result of excessive rains that began April 1, according to a news release.

The loan program is available to eligible businesses and organizations that suffered financial losses as a direct result of the rains.

Applicants should apply at disasterloan.sba.gov/ela by May 27, 2014.
