Teens arrested on burglary charge
North Augusta Public Safety arrested two teens Friday in connection with a burglary that happened earlier last week.
Jamal Richardson, 17, of Aiken, and a 16-year-old boy, whose name was withheld by police, face charges of burglary in the second degree and grand larceny in a break-in at a home on Whitemarsh Drive on Oct. 1.
Richardson, who was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Aiken Estates neighborhood, is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center. The 16-year-old is being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.
Ink cartridges are stolen from store
Office Depot’s store manager reported Oct. 1 to North Augusta Public Safety that a man came into the store Sept. 28 and stole ink cartridges.
According to an incident report, the manager told the officer that he noticed the items missing and reviewed survelliance video that showed the suspect as a black male wearing a black jacket with a hood and sunglasses. When they were in view of the camera, the man covered his face with his shirt.
Fifteen HP inkject toner packages were reported missing. The items were valued at a little more than $1,230.
