The Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society will play host to a book signing Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Tompkins Library’s Lynch Building Annex in Edgefield, S.C.
Dr. T. Felder Dorn will sign copies of his new book, Challenges on the Emmaus Road: Episcopal Bishops Confront Slavery, Civil War and Emancipation. The book is a study of the role slavery and the Civil War played in separating Northern and Southern Episcopal bishops and their churches.
Audition for production
The North Augusta Cultural Arts Council is holding auditions for its upcoming I Love A Piano production.
The production will be showcased Jan. 31-Feb. 1. The production is a celebration of the music and lyrics of Irving Berlin and follows the journey of a piano as it moves in and out of American lives from the turn of the century to the present and includes more than 60 of Berlin’s songs, according to a news release.
Roles are available for three women and three men. Auditions are being held in the orchestra room at First Baptist Church of North Augusta on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., Oct. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Oct. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m.
