September has arrived. It is hard to believe summer is ending and the children are back in school. I feel like we haven’t had much summer with all of the rain. Time does fly these days it seems.

The Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta has been enjoying visitors coming in to see the exhibit on entertainment and we are looking forward to the Clay Artists of the Southeast exhibit starting Sept. 30 in the main gallery. The works of 18 artists are shown in an exhibit called Sea Life.

The gift shop has added many new items and artwork for the fall and holiday season. Now is the time to beat the rush and find those great items for those special people in your life.

The center also has the Bag Ladies exhibit up in the second-floor gallery, which is presented by 24 Pieceful Hearts quilters and guests Julie Gazda and Janet Sterzen. The quilters have their beautiful bags plus a display case of antique purses. The two guests have added antique purses. Go in and vote for your favorite quilted bag as one of the lucky ladies will win a prize.

HAMMOND’S FERRY IS having its fall neighborhood porch sale Oct. 11-12. La Petite Gallerie, in conjunction with the porch sale, will be open from 6 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 11 and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 12.

The gallery will feature Angela Davis, Jill Stanfford , Beth Jones, Penny Force as well as owner Wendy Cunico. Janet Sterzen will also be featuring new hand-painted silk scarves as well as some jewelry. It’s time to think about holiday gifts and here you will find one-of-a-kind unique items. Stop in at 526 Arrington Avenue in Hammond’s Ferry. Just follow the signs posted on easels and look for the pumpkin-colored house.

THE MORRIS MUSEUM of Art has The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Film Makers with some of the best independent films from around the world. All films begin at 6 p.m. in the museum’s auditorium and are followed by a discussion with the film makers. Visit www.themorris.com for up-to-date information.

Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art with the Westobou Festival and Georgia Regents University is presenting the Morris Eminent Scholar Exhibition: Phillip Morsberger, Tom Nakashima and William Willis through Oct. 6 in the Rex Property & Land Gallery (J.B. White Building) 936 Broad Street. It is open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Don’t forget to stop by and see the Artist of the Month exhibits from artists from the North Augusta Artist Guild at the Arts and Heritage Center, Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce Office, in the NA Today newspaper, NA Family Y, the Beveled Edge Framing and Gallery, Jim Bush Flowers, Quality Printing, Special Effects Hair studio and The Men’s Refinery Barber Shop.
