Credit union president named to national board
Ed Templeton, SRP Federal Credit Union president and CEO, has been elected as the vice chairman of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.
The organization focuses on federal issues affecting credit unions and represents its members before the federal government and the public.
SRP Federal Credit Union’s headquarters is in North Augusta and includes 19 facilities around the area.
March of Dimes seeking family teams for event
March of Dimes is seeking family teams to sign up for its March for Babies Aiken County event on Sept. 28 at the H.Odell Weeks Activities Center, 1700 Whiskey Road, Aiken.
March for Babies family teams include family members and friends of those who have had a personal experience with premature birth, birth defects or infant mortality, according to a news release.

New SRR president named
Ken Rueter has been named the new president and project manager for Savannah River Remediation.
He replaces Dave Olson, who was recently named president of Washington River Protection Solutions in Richland, Wash.
Rueter’s prior experience includes serving as chief operating officer of UCOR (URS/CH2M Oak Ridge) in Oak Ridge, Tenn., project manager for the alternative salt program at Savannah River Site and process controls and automation department manager with Westinghouse Savannah River Company.
North Augusta graduate completes Plebe Summer
Navy Midshipman Eric T. Collins of North Augusta High School recently completed Plebe Summer at the U.S. Navy Academy.
Plebe Summer activities included swimming, martial arts, basic rock climbing and obstacle, endurance and confidence courses. Participants also had 40 training hours for instruction of infantry drill and formal parades.
Collins is a 2013 graduate of North Augusta High School and is the son of Christine M. and Thomas R. Collins of North Augusta.
