The North Augusta Exchange Club presented awards to the winners of its annual Milestones of Freedom essay contest on May 14. North Augusta High School sophomores Briggs Smith, Erin Spivey and Jacob Lott wrote their essays based on their study of historic American documents such as the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Gettysburg Address. Cancer survivor celebration

Hammond House, 128 Walnut Lane, will have a free cancer survivor celebration at noon June 27 for survivors and their families.

Lunch will be served. Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour Hammond House and meet its residents and team.

Auditions to be held

Destiny Leaders will hold auditions for its upcoming Aiken County Youth Got Talent show.

Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 at various locations in Aiken County. Area 2 students will audition at First Providence Baptist Church, 315 Barton Road. Those residing in Area 3 should contact Destiny Leaders at (803) 426-1159 for their location.

Those auditioning should bring any music, instruments or props needed for their act.

The talent show will be held at 6 p.m. June 27 at the Aiken Performing Arts Academy.
