Store’s kerosene may be unsafe
Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black announced that kerosene purchased on or after March 24 from Sprint Foods 720, 424 S. Belair Road in Martinez, should not be used.
According to the news release, “the kerosene is possibly contaminated with gasoline and has the potential to cause an explosion or fire if used in home heaters or lamps.”
Anyone who purchased kerosene from the store on or after March 24 can call the store at (706) 863-5883 or the department’s Fuel and Measures Division at (404) 656-3605 for more information.
Sewer line repairs close intersection
The City of Aiken utilities department has closed the intersection of Barnwell Avenue and Union Street for sewer line repairs.
The westbound lane of Barnwell Avenue will be shut down during the repair. The eastbound lane should remain open, but motorists should expect delays, according to the news release.
Northbound and southbound lanes of Union Street will be closed during the repair project.
