Man steals laptop at display
An unknown man stole a laptop from a display at Walmart on Feb. 4.
According to a North Augusta Public Safety incident report, the man used a cutting tool to cut through a cable holding the display models to the counter.
He then left the area for a short period of time and returned, taking an Acer ultrabook laptop and placing it in the front of his pants before leaving the store.
The laptop was valued at $629.
Woman steals unusual items
A 23-year-old Augusta woman was arrested Feb. 6 for shoplifting at Publix.
An employee saw Patricia Anne Frederickson, of the 100 block of Jeanine Way, put a pack of Tums tablets and a pack of Preparation H wipes into her purse, according to a North Augusta Public Safety incident report.
Frederickson told the reporting officer that she didn’t have any money and intentionally took the items.
She was charged with shoplifting under $2,000.
