I sought solitude as I strolled down a path,
Out of sight of a much-travelled road,
Another world beckoned, so I followed the trail.
Hopping before me was a white spotted toad.
He stopped at a toadstool, that was lovely to see,
It had the appearance of exquisite lace.
Without one croak he looked up at me
With a smile on his polka dot face.
A tree on my left had the strangest shaped bole,
Like an O, or a mouth opened wide.
Much stranger though was the vision I saw
Of lovely fairies gathered inside.
They were having a meeting, of a sort, so it seemed,
I could not hear one word they spoke.
I quietly knelt down with my ear to the ground,
Wouldn’t you know, it was then I awoke.
