Citizen of the Year nominations

The Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for Citizen of the Year.

Nominees should be a resident of North Augusta. Past recipients cannot be nominated. For a nomination form, contact the chamber at (803) 279-2323. The deadline to submit nomination forms is Jan. 21.

The selected Citizen of the Year honoree will be recognized during the chamber’s 2013 Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the North Augusta Community Center.

The 2013 board of directors will be introduced and retiring directors, the Ambassador of the Year and the Citizen of the Year will be honored.

Tickets are $45 for chamber members and $65 for nonmembers.

Event to feature Hampton Terrace artifacts

The Heritage Council of North Augusta will have an event Friday highlighting the Hampton Terrace.

A Toast to the 14th Season of the Hampton Terrace-The Season that Never Was, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the North Augusta Community Center.

Artifacts from the hotel will be on display. The speaker schedule is as follows: 4:15 p.m., Elliott Levy and Tony Riley on the artifacts of the Hampton Terrace; 5 p.m., Lauren Virgo on James U. Jackson and the Hampton Terrace; and 6 p.m., the Heritage Council will have its annual meeting.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.
