Drum for Peace
Drum Day- Drum for Peace Drum Circle will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Community members are invited to drum for peace throughout the day. Not Gaddy from iDRUM2U-Recreational Health Drum Circles will facilitate the free event which will be held at the FCU Center, 415 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta.
A limited number of drums will be available for rental during the event.

Student talent show
Westminster Schools of Augusta will have a talent show Jan. 12 featuring students in sixth through 12th grades.
The show will be held at 7 p.m. at the school, 3067 Wheeler Road, Augusta.
Acts will include vocal solos, gymnastic routines, dances and more. Participants will be judged by members of the community including Austin Rhodes. Cash prizes will be given to the winners. There will also be a chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner.
The event will be emceed by John and Cleve from 88.3FM WAFJ.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults with a maximum of $25 per family. For more information, go to www.wsa.net.
Youth programs seeking participants
Humanitree House is taking applications for its youth programs.
The G.R.O.W.I.N.G. Youth Sister Circle and Rites of Passage program is designed for girls ages 9 to 18. The program is focused on the importance of sisterhood, positivity, creativity, life skills, education, confidence and self-esteem.

The B2B Brother to Brother program is geared toward male youth and is a multicultural discussion rap group. The group teaches the youth how to express themselves constructively, about issues in their communities and how to adapt to changes, and about respect, honor and accountability. SRS tour dates announced
Registrations for Savannah River Site 2013 tours are being accepted.
Tour dates are Jan. 15 and 24; Feb. 13 and 26; March 12 and 27; Apr. 16 and 25; May 8 and 30; June 11 and 27; July 16 and 24; Aug. 6 and 21; Sept. 10 and 26; Oct. 9 and 22; Nov. 6; and Dec. 4.
Tours start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. each tour date. Each tour can accommodate up to 50 people.
The tours feature a safety briefing, overview presentation, general driving tour of the site and a demonstration at the Savannah River Ecology Lab.
Tour participants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and provide two forms of identification at check-in on the day of the selected tour.
