The teacher in a Sunday school has opportunities galore
To witness for our savior, Could we really ask for more?
Now listen to this story, You’ll agree I’m sure it’s sad
For this story’s about a teacher and a poor little lad
The teacher had just made the point, It came from John 3: 16
That Jesus died for everyone both the good also the mean
The child showed so much interest, Tears welled up in his eyes
So the teacher kept him after class to try to find out why
The child then told this story; My dad treats me so bad
And when I go to Sunday School it seems to make him mad
My mother died when I was three and I don’t remember much
Except the way she held me, I really loved her touch
You see it’s really been a while since someone cared for me
The way you say that Jesus did, Yes Mam I sure believe
And the lady brushed away her tears and her Bible she did reach
For God had surely rewarded her for she had someone to teach
