Summer clothing will be $1 per item and books will be 50 percent off.

Heritage Council meeting
Art conservator Barney Lamar will be the guest speaker at the Heritage Council of North Augusta’s meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
During his career he has preserved two canvases by Norman Rockwell, according to a news release.
Meetings are open to the public and are held at the North Augusta Community Center, 495 Brookside Ave. Refreshments are served.

New AA meeting in Spanish
The North Augusta Central Group of Alcoholics Anonymous is starting a new meeting in Spanish on Sept. 5.
The meeting will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. at 300 Riverside Blvd. The group is open to any man or woman who desires to stop drinking and there is no fee to join.

Local artists will be featured exhibitors at Sacred Heart
Elizabeth Moretz Britt and Beth Jones will be the featured artists for September and October at the Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta.
There will be an opening reception for the exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 6. The exhibit will continue through Oct. 26.
The center is located at 1301 Greene St.
Ghost story contest
The Nancy Carson Library will begin accepting entries for the young adult ghost story writing contest Sept. 14.
