Man causes scene in court

A 29-year-old North Augusta man caused a scene during municipal court on June 26 after disagreeing with the judge’s decision on his case.

Joseph William Finnie of the 500 block of Bradley Drive began to talk loudly and cursed as he walked out of the courtroom, according to a North Augusta Public Safety incident report.

Finnie was then arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Aiken County Detention Center.

Car stolen from gas station

A car was stolen from the Circle K, 226 Georgia Ave., around 8 a.m. June 26 while the driver went in to pay for gas. The victim told North Augusta Public Safety that she was driving her daughter’s tan and gray 1989 Honda Accord and had pulled up to one of the pumps and pumped $7 worth of gas. She went into the store to pay and when she came out, the car was gone, according to an incident report.

Surveillance video showed an unknown person walk up Georgia Avenue and get into the car soon after the driver “turned her back to walk in the store.”

The reporting officer was unable to determine the race or gender of the suspect from the video, the report stated.

Candy stolen

Candy was stolen from the sales area at Hammond Hill Suburban Club Pool sometime between 5:30 p.m. June 22 and 8:30 a.m. June 23. According to a North Augusta Public Safety incident report, someone stole about $100 worth of candy and scattered candy throughout the front part of the area. A water fountain near the sales area was also pushed apart.

Staff found several Bud Light beer cans in the area, according to the report.
