Athlete Spotlight: Jacob Withers

POSITION: Striker

AGE: 12

GRADE: Seventh

SCHOOL: Homeschool

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SOCCER? All the other sports were pretty boring for me ... soccer is like perfect.

WHAT IS THE MOST DIFFICULT THING TO DO IN SOCCER? Staying confident, not being nervous before big games

STANDOUT MOMENT: In a Disney tournament for Arsenal, I play keeper for them and there was a corner kick and I did a dig save and caught it last year.

STRENGTHS: Finding passes, accuracy

IMPROVEMENT GOAL: Scissor kick, footwork, diving, keeper

WORST INJURY: Hole through mouth, knocked my brace through my gums

TRAINING ROUTINE: Go outside and kick in a goal, juggle a lot, work on skill work

OTHER SPORTS: None

SPORT YOU WOULD LIKE TO TRY: Lacrosse

FAVORITE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE: Cristiano Ronaldo
